Genetically Modified Flax

GMO Linseed / Flax CDC Triffid™ (FP967) was developed by the Crop Development Centre of the University of Saskatchewan and tested in field trials from 1988 - 2002 . An application in the EU was never filed for this GM variety, and a zero tolerance for this GM variety is therefore applied in the EU. Contamination of CDC Triffid™ in German flax samples were notified by the EU Rapid Altert System (RASFF) in September 2009.
